Tritoxa Incurva

I'm feeling an itty bit guilty about calling Ape a fucker in my last post. I might have been a little harsh.....
Not that he doesn't totally deserve a good ass kicking sometimes, but I have to keep reminding myself
that it's not entirely his fault, the way he is.

Anyway, I spent a great deal of this morning searching the internet for info about a bug I keep seeing
out in the yard. For some reason it reminds me of those flying bloodsucking pink shell bugs that killed
the evil little boy in Stephen King's book "IT".
I had nightmares about those things for years after reading that when I was 11.
Now every time I see one of these bugs I literally get chills up & down my spine. They freak me out
in the worst way.
Really wouldn't bother me at all if they didn't have that weird creepy proboscis sucker
mouth thing on their faces.
I tried taking pictures of one once and ended up falling over on my ass and scrambling to get up and run away before it got me....I swear it kept turning it's head and staring at me, all the while that unholy sucker
mouth was flaring in and out....like it wanted to taste me.
Taste the inside of my eyeballs.....
SO I found out that it's Tritoxa Incurva....a Picture Winged Fly.
Look at that freaky thing....

It's apparently a harmless little thing that eats rotten vegetation...so says the internet.
I, for one, still believe that it would think nothing of trying to suck the juice out of my eyeballs if given a chance.
